I agree.. having decent savings/ investments gives you peace of mind. I also worked in consulting for about a decade before quitting so managing personal expenses hasn't been an issue. However, one still wants consistent cash flows from the business to keep it sustainable and feel like we are making progress. Atleast I need it haha.

That said, with so many opportunities to make money online, many ppl don't want to wait decades to try something new. And I think better option for them is to try a sustainable side hustle first before quitting their job altogether. Or be okay with living within their means for first few years after quitting their job.

Curious how far ahead did you make your long term plan when you started? I made a long term plan that I scrapped within 6 months and now I am doing something entirely different from what I intially planned 😁
